Guests from USA #1 - 2007.10.6
Hello this is GOSHU from MOON GARAGE. While Domestic car shows will be hosted on parade such as "All Odds Nationals", "Japanese Classic Car Show" and "Crown Picnic", the preparation for December 2nd 16th Annual YOKOHAMA HOT ROD Custom Show(HCS) is taking progress. This time I went on 5 days US Trip to do a cover for HCS Guest Special Issues with Mr. Oikawa chief editor of "Cruisin' Magazine" Japan.

On 1st day, we went to cover Sinners member and chief editor of Classic Truck Magazine, Robert Fortier and his '53 Chevy Belair at riverside which is about one hour east from MOONEYES USA. The car was already chopped and in primer by previous owner Todd Gravelle when purchased through his good friend Cole Foster. Then it was painted with custom two tone blue with sky blue and Kandy kobalt, '52 side trim, '49 Plymouth rear glass, '56 Buick tail light, trunk and T-bird interior was done up with pearl white and blue. Now its trophy winner show car.

2nd day, we went to Chica Custom Cycles at Huntington Beach to cover "Chica" with his HD "Unicorn" which was made in short time for famous American TV program. The engine fins, heads and case are all modified and total shape was made to form forward to match his feelings. He takes the trailer to events in USA and is famous with USA TV shows.

Next we went to see Trevelen of Super Co. Customs at East LA. This time he will have 2 bikes taken to the show. HD Knuckle The "El Peligroso" and Kiwi Indian "Crazy Hose". He is really kind and serious when he talks and good on making a pause in front of cameras. In side shop, many HD he is working on, huge cartoons painting and always have people visiting him. He and his friend makes the atmosphere. The '29 Ford Pick of his had rare small block Hemi too.
Please note that Super Co. Customs Trevelen's KIWI Indian "CRAZY HORSE" will not be able to attend the show due to the circumstances.

3rd day was two hours drive to southeast, Sinners Kutty with his HD and Triumph he made for his wife which just finished on day before.
After this Kutty took apart his HD to add more glare with new paint. This will be his third time to the HCS and his new pegs seems ready to go to. New material with more color and it will be nice to have but he assembles after mold so he can't have huge lot in one shot. Please check out the New colors in Area-1.

4th day was one hour drive to north east to Pomona to meet with So-Cal Speed Shop CEO Pete and shoot in front of So-Cal Roadster and his office. This time he will join us with Jim Jard the owner of "Devil Deuce".

Next went to Kennedy Brothers Joe and Jason who made Jim Jard's "Devil Deuce". The younger Jason chopped many '32 and three '32 Ford 5 windows were inside shop and one of them was getting roof set back up 2 inches to repair from some chop job. That's special work they can do with many cut out pillars. Cool older Joe takes paint work. Shop is filled with many nice things to look at like the vintage wood surfboards, 60s Dragster, Tiki, and many pictures. They are very nice and cool to talk to but they don't come out to all events, so its rare occasion to be able to see them at the show.

Then we went to see Rico who made Kutty's HD in "Choppertown: The Sinners DVD" and his new shop as he got too famous with Sinners DVD and had to move his shop. Rocker and HD Milwaukee factory school trained experience makes his multi background. He works in "Hi Bond Modified" with Jason Jessee and Cole fosters. Rico is making give away HD for NOS(nitro) company on 2008 SEMA and busy making other many HD lined up in his shop.

The last 5th day was the longest drive to Salinas which is distance far enough to take airplane than driving to see Cole Foster and MOON Rocket. Cole has hand work to make any form with aluminum and this time HD had Cowl, Tank, Seat and Fenders all hand made by him. He was busy getting ready for heading to shows in Las Vegas next day and was happy about going to see "GOGOS" with always kind susan when Jason Jessee showed up.

Jeff Decker who is coming to HCS this year, called Jason and told to see MOONEYES and Cruisin' at Cole's place. It was hard to contact to see if he is really coming to HCS but we went to his shop with guidance by his black police "Romantic interceptor".

Always something happening around Jason Jessee and no one can be 100% sure if he will make it to HCS in Japan this time. Jason gave us message "Hope I can Make it!" with his fire works and new twin board autographed with MOON Equipped in Ed Roth's Paintings and autographed on the HCS posters.

This cover trip had many pictures and things taking back to Yokohama Honmoku Area-1 so please come and check them out if you are in Japan.

This interview will be in HCS Show DVD, so this years DVD will be fun to see. And Cruisin' magazine will be out on October 26th, 2007 with cover on this trip so please don't miss that one too! Thank You!
