PRA JUNE NATIONALS / Super Shot "SO CAL RACE TRIAL"

On June 9th, 2002 three of our colleagues entered in the “So Cal Race Trial” held by Super Shot, at the “June Nationals” PRA drag race. They were “Mickey” Kanemoto on his C-1500 454SS, “Wildman” Ishii on his Shelby Mustang, and last but not least, our boss, Shige Suganuma on his Glory Rod.

The Mooneyes Meet held on April 21st had to end early because it started to rain cats and dogs, and so people could not race their cars to the fullest. People say God works in mysterious ways, I guess he knew we were having a drag race on the 9th and he gave us a bright and sun shining day! Everyone was able to run at least 4 runs at the race and so I guess people were satisfied.

The Glory Rod had its transmission problem from the previous race fixed, but now, neither the first nor the second burnout didn't do too good. But on the third go, got a great burnout going, and made the Best E.T. of the day. The Exhibition Match was held between the Moon Bug with Akihiko “Aki-chan” Obata, and the Glory Rod. But unfortunately, the Glory Rod had some fuel pump related problems and stopped in the middle of the strip. Victory shined upon the Moon Bug this time around.

The Moon Bug later on got the PRA Turbo Class 1st prize. The Glory Rod will go into the shop again, get fixed up, enter the Super American Festival at Fuji Raceway on August 4th, and enter the PRA Final Daytona Day races on October 20th. The 10 second mark is in point blank range now, and so come on down and enjoy the adrenaline rush with your family. I'll see you at the race! See you Later. Bye!
