The entire process is done in the MOONEYES Machine Shop including the manual labor for 100% made in USA product! It is an intensive process that only three can be completed in a day.

Gasoline East Open!

Gasoline East が 2月 20日 (日) 小田原に Open!
小田原-厚木道路から下りてすぐなので大変便利。
横浜からでも 1時間で行ける距離。
East と言う位だから勿論 West もある。

West は California の El Segundo, こちらは LAX から 10分と便利なロケーション。
Artists の作品を展示販売とオリジナル商品の販売等、
この様な Gallery は今まで無かったから皆が待ちに待ってた感じ。
今後の展開が期待出来そう！！

Gasoline EAST had their grand opening on February 20 (Sunday) in Odawara, Japan (about 40 miles from Yokohama).
It’s right off the Odawara-Atsugi Road Exit so it’s really easy to find.
It took just over 1 hour by car from Yokohama too.
It’s called East because there is a West too.

West is in El Segundo, California which is about 10 minutes from LAX and that is another convenient location. Artists showcase and shows, original artwork on display and for sale as well as original merchandise is also for sale there.
There has never really been a gallery such as this in Japan until now so I think people have been waiting for it to happen.
We look forward the gallery exhibits and great success in the future!!

最近 1958-60 の Thunderbird a.k.a T-bird and Square Bird を良く見かけます。
I’ve been seeing a lot of 1958-60 Ford Thunderbird, a.k.a. T-bird and Square Bird, recently.

勿論 California での話です。
Of course this is in California and not Japan.

自分で 1960 T-bird を持っているので気にして見ているのでしょうか？

そうとも言えません。増えています。

大変特徴ある造形なので Kustom のベースとしては最高の 1台かもしれません。
I own a 1960 T-bird and recently had it back on the road so maybe that’s why I’ve been noticing?
Not really though. More are being seen.
With drastic features and characteristics in stock form, it makes for a great Kustom base.

こちらが僕の 1960 T-bird。

最高傑作 at GNRS/GNRS Masterpiece

今年のGNRSで一番の傑作はこのクルマです。
This car to me was best masterpiece of GNRS this year.

この角度からでは車種を特定するのは難しいです。
At this particular angle, it’s difficult to tell what the base vehicle is.

Cadillac 風 Front Bumper/Grille
It’s got custom Frenched headlights and Cadillac front bumper/grille treatment.

Tail Fin, Cadillac 風リア Tail Fin にあるブレーキランプも Cadillac 風
もう車種分かりますね。
Long Cadillac type tail fins. The brakes lights are Cadillac styling too.
You can tell what car this is by now.

Dodge Magnumでした！！
車高下げてホイルを代えてたらもう少しは良い印象だったと思います。
It’s a Dodge Magnum!!
Perhaps if it were lowered and different wheels were used it would have a better impression.

こちらは Area-1 に来店されたお客様の Magnum。
These Magnums are customer cars that visited our shop in Area-1.

P.S. 4月24日 (日) お台場で開催予定の 25回目のSCN,
会場側の協力を得て昨年同様全面使用可能となりました。
Burnout Demo も開催予定です。多分お台場のあの場所での開催は今回最後かもしれません。

P.S. News Update in regards to the 25th SCN event scheduled to be held on April 24 (Sunday).
We just confirmed that were will be able to utilize the entire are or the parking lot, much like last year.
We will also plan to hold a BURNOUT DEMO! With construction plans in the works for developers, this may very well be the last time this space is used for SCN. It will be one to remember. Be sure to enter early for the event!!

今年の America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) はこれらの Roadster の中からこの一台に決まりました。
Out of all the Roadsters entered in GNRS2011, this year’s America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) Award was this one.

AMBR へエントリーしていた Roadster は沢山あったのですが全部は撮っていませんでした。
There were so many AMBR Entry Roadster that I didn’t get to take pictures of all of them.

MOONEYES Booth 前に Display されていた ’32 Ford Pick Up は 2nd Place Custom Class Award,
Outstanding Detail and Paint Award, Best Pinstriping of the Year Award を受賞しました。
On display in front of the MOONEYES Booth was this ’32 Ford Pickup racking up several awards including 2nd Place Custom Class Award, Outstanding Detail and Paint Award and Best Pinstriping of the Year.

前回に続きGrand National Roadster Showですが
今回はMotorcycleを紹介します。
Last week I posted about custom cars at the Grand National Roadster Show.

Grand National Roadster Show 2011

先週 Pomona, California で開催された Grand National Roadster Show、
今年は “Customs Then & Now” と言うタイトルで
昔に作られた Customs や最近に作られた Customs を集めたホールがありました。
今回のショーで一番楽しかったホールです。写真を沢山撮りましたのでご覧下さい。
Last week in Pomona, California was the Grand National Roadster Show.
This year’s title was “Customs Now & Then” which was a hall filled with cars that were
customized a long time go as well as customs build in recent times.
This was by far the coolest place to be at the show. I spent a long time here
and took a lot pictures too. Check it out:

Morning Cruise

Irvine で毎週土曜日に行われている Morning Cruise 早い人は 4:00am から来ているそうです。
僕らが行ったので 7:00am前、すでに Parking は一杯でした。
もう日本では見かけないようなクルマが朝早くから沢山集まっていました。
Every weekend on Saturday there is a Morning Cruise in Irvine and some of the early goers are there at 4:00AM. We were there just before 7:00AM, and already the Parking lot was filled. You won’t find a meeting quite like this where it’s held very early in the morning and yet there are so many people participating.

朝陽を真正面から浴び405 FWYを南下し, Irvine Center Drで下りてすぐの所で Morning Cruise が開催されています。
The morning sunrise directly in front of us as we head south on the 405 FWY, Irvine Center Dr is where we exit and right there off the freeway is where the Morning Cruise is held.

これは 300SL Gull Wingです。珍しいオプションのセンターロックホイールを装着しています。
This is a 300SL Gull Wing and is equipped with a rare option center-lock wheels.

こちらは early ’60s Austin-Healey 3000s 集まった。
