It’s the 20th Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2011 this year and we have confirmed the the core details for the event.
Being the 20th Anniversary, we have 5 vehicles coming from USA.
There’s Julio and Fabian from the Bean Bandits, with their Modified Roadsters.

Returning to Japan after 10 years, Shifters member, Marky and his Purple People Eater.
Coming out of SO-CAL Speed Shop, the “SO-CAL Deuce Hiboy & late model Triumph base SO-CAL Miler custom bike.
Circle City Hot Rods built and Harpoon painted 1949 Chevy Styleline Deluxe called “Cyaneyed” will also be here.
We want to have all the Car Clubs to take part this year too and have a good time together as one big car scene.

Now for Motorcycles. It’s been five year since Shinya Kimura left Japan for the USA. Yes, that’s right, Chabott Engineering has been riding and challenging the land speed record on a 1946 Knucklehead “Spike” which will be at HCS along with his 1974 MV Agusta “Blue One” custom as well.

It was hard to decide but for the 20th event, we feel this is an appropriate selection of guests from USA. Of course, there’s more to come. Last month in June was the So Cal Motorcycle show Born Free III and out of that show, we have a few bikes coming to Japan including Best of Show Award, Bronsonville Shawn Donahue’s 1961 Pan/Shovel, Small City Cycles/The Factory Metal Works’ 1957 Triumph “Early Times” and Bronsonville Scott Craig’s 1952 Triumph. We also have Hardnine Choppers’ 1940 Triumph from Switzerland.
At Born Free III, Best Japanese Bike Award went to Aaron Elliott’s Honda CJ360 “Little Red Rocket” that will be part of HCS too this year.
Also confirmed this year are Kutty Noteboom, Mark Drews, Gabe Griffin, which Gabe will be the first to bring a trike over from USA. We’ll have a photo very soon. I hope if will make it on time.

Right now, that’s 5 cars and 11 motorcycles scheduled to come to HCS this year.
This will get it pumped up!
We also have Cole Foster, Jeff Decker, Rico Fodrey, Dice Magazine Matt & Dean, Harpoon, Born Free Show organizers Grant & Mike and legendary builder Gene Winfield will be at HCS this year!

In the past couple shows, we had SR Palace, Forever Multi sections within the show. This year we will have a section titled “Custom British Chopper & Bobber” to host for British made customs
Also last year we had a custom paint contest that was a huge success. So this year we’ll host another one but instead of motorcycle tanks, it will be a helmet theme, “Helmet Custom Paint Contest”.
Of course, we’ll have vendor booths and Pinstriping Gathering, Collectivities Alley, Little Get Together Party and more.
The plan stays the same this year but you can get updated from our website.

We’d like to get Car Clubs to participate together this year at HCS and possible have a club display.
This year MOONEYES will have a “Best Car Club” award and we hope to present that to the best group display.
HCS began as just a car show and this year we would like to commemorate by putting something together for the cars owners and car clubs.

Important Note: Last year, we had a lot of complaints from the neighboring areas around the Pacifico, even some saying, “Take you show somewhere else!” and “This is inappropriate for Yokohama!” etc. In order to keep your entertainment level high and make sure everyone has a good time, it is also up to you to keep it from being crushed by negative complaints. All we ask is that you use common sense and judgment about noise and rowdiness. In certain areas or times, it can be easy to get loud. We want it to be a good time for everyone.
Most people looking in from the outside don’t understand our hot rod and custom life and it’s easy for them to complain so be careful out there and thank you for your cooperation.
