\r\n
\r\n Greeting from MQQNEYES!
\r\nThe 5th Annual Art of Speed Malaysia was held on May 28-29, 2016. It is the 5th year for this event and has grown bigger each year. I still remember the first time back in 2012<\/a>. Over the years it has been great to see old friends and meet new ones. This year there were many invited guests from abroad including professional skateboarder Steve Caballero, ATR Jeff Webber and The Wretched Hive Jeff Leighton from USA.There were also invited guests from Japan including Hi-Technix with their Mercury lowrider, Cherry's Company with his Shovelhead as well as Hammer Sycle with his Hardley-Driveable Knucklehead. Congratulations to Deni and Asep for another great show.

\r\nIt was raining on the day we left Japan. Rain Season was in full effect. This year, we travelled with a different airline and arrived at Kuala Lumpur airport in the late afternoon. There were over 20 people travelling from Japan. From the airport we went directly to dinner.

\r\nThe next morning we were up early and headed to the event location. Made it to our booth which was next to Hot Wheels. They were rushed by morning crowds in search of Treasure Hunt cars. They also featured a cool pop up card to pose in front of - skateboard and all. By the time the event officially started at 10AM, we were ready. Shige-san was off to an early start taking photos and signing things. M&K Makoto was already at work to on one of the bikes at the Strokers booth.

\r\nI dipped outside for a peak. Bikes were still rolling in. Outside swap meet vendors were setting up too. This Silvia was parked outside which lead me to the second hall. A new addition to the event featuring more cars and vendors!

\r\nWe headed to the event locatoin fairly early. There were already a lot of people lined up to get inside.
\r\nBefore the crowds flooded in, I went through the main hall to see the cars and bikes. There were not as many full custom cars this year compared to previous years. The variety of cars to see is still a treat for the eyes from old Volkswagens, modern European cars, classic American cars, new and old Japanese cars and many others in between.

\r\nThe motorcycles at the event are always great to see. This year was no disappointment with classic restored machines to wild off the wall builds. The great part about custom bikes here is the fact that it doesn't matter what kind of bike it is. Anything can be custom and everything from 50cc scooters to 2000cc big twins get the works.

\r\nThe next day we checked out of our hotel, took one last group shot and did a short tour before heading to the airport. Every year has been a positive experience in Malaysia. If you ever thought about visiting Kuala Lumpur, make sure it's the same weekend as Art of Speed Malaysia and you will surely have the best time there. Hope to see you all next year! The date has tentatively been set for July 29-30, 2017. Until next time Malaysia!

The 5th Annual Art of Speed Malaysia was held on May 28-29, 2016. It is the 5th year for this event and has grown bigger each year. I still remember the first time back in 2012. It was raining on the day we left Japan. Rain Season was in full effect. This year, we travelled with a different airline and arrived at Kuala Lumpur airport in the late afternoon. There were over 20 people travelling from Japan. From the airport we went directly to dinner. HELLO By Kitchen Mafia was the place. Great food and plenty of drinks everywhere! After dinner, we headed to our hotel. The next morning we were up early and headed to the event location. I dipped outside for a peak. Bikes were still rolling in. Outside swap meet vendors were setting up too.
