A short break with the blog. As you get older, you start to feel more cautious about driving. Even a 30-mile (about 50 km) one-way trip can feel risky.
The Freeway speed limit is 65 mph, but most people are going around 75 mph. Some cars weave through traffic at over 80 mph. You would think people would only pass on the left, then suddenly, someone flies by on the right.
And if anything happens, all you hear is a loud Beep! Beeeep! To protect myself in a Southern California that seems to have lost its patience, the steady daily driver I chose is the HONDA Civic! I heard the tariff rate went up to 24%, and it’s a mess but still it's okay.
If something happens, it might stop.
Back then, you could drive without a license plate right after buying a car on the day. But now, you need a white temporary plate like this. California’s definitely changed since those days.
By the way, the car next to is a 2017 Civic. It didn’t come with a plate when it was bought.
HONDA cars really suit Southern California, don’t you think?
