This year tipped the scales with 1,400 show entries, 100 drag racers and 200 vendors. It was overflowing with excitement! After the rain two years ago, we've been nervous about the weather but it was a fantastic weekend! In fact early that morning just as the gates opened, everyone there was treated to a total lunar eclipse in the Southern California skies. It is the last lunar eclipse until 2014.\r\n\r\nMr. K from Japan was in the driver's seat of the MQQNEYES Nova for the drags. The MQQNEYES Dragster which was being worked on until the last minute, was started up for a cackle but after that we realized it wasn't quite right for running so we'll have to go though the entire motor nice and slow later on.\r\n\r\nThe traffic coming into the show was backed up to the freeway exits. Needless to say, the surrounding areas were also congested with cars. The general parking lot filled up quickly and the oval track course and pit area became a parking lot full of cars in no time. With the superb weather, the attendance was way beyond expectations.\r\n\r\nThe first Sunday in December is the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show. From there, it's straight to LA for the following weekend's Saturday XMAS Show. The next day (Sunday) is a double-header, first in Long Beach for the Swap Meet and over to Ventura for the David Mann Chopper Fest. It's one amazing weekend with back to back events. We'll do it again next year too.
