\r\nKirk, mentioned in a \r\nblog entry<\/a> just the other day, decided to take his Electronic Fuel Injected \r\nChevy V-8 ZZ3 powered 1960 Toyota Crown on its first outing to the cruise.
\r\nJust to make sure the Crown can handle the cruise, the EFI needs to be touched \r\nso it is dropped off at a neighborhood shop.
\r\nWhat a shop! So many cars with California blue license plates and older black \r\nplates lined up inside. Just like a scene from the past.
\r\n
\r\nSunday, Kirk and I met at 06:30 AM in the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa parking \r\nlot.
\r\nWith two Toyotas, a Century and a Crown, we took the 405 FWY, Southbound and crossed \r\non to I-5.
\r\nJust before Irvine Center Drive, we exited and right where we got off was the \r\nparking lot where the cruise met.
\r\n
\r\nJust a bit south from Newport Beach, in Southern California, is a place called \r\nCrystal Cove.
\r\nThe morning cruise has been posted about in a \r\nprior blog<\/a> entry but after that time, it was relocated to Irvine because of \r\ndifficulties with the surrounding area.
\r\n
\r\nActually, this is the location of the old Orange County Int'l Raceway.
\r\nYou would take Irvine Center Drive, make a left, cross over 405 and right after \r\non the right hand side cross I-5 and right there was OCIR.
\r\n
\r\nJust behind the cruise meeting area up an embankment, right on the opposite side \r\nof I-5 was where it was... and the I-5 sign reminds me of some old memories.
\r\n
\r\nIt's been a while for the Crown, this early in the morning and the flow of air \r\ncoming inside isn't hot.
\r\nIt was a refreshing and pleasant drive. It's been 15 years since the Crown was \r\nbuild. That's a long time.
