#002 "Big 3" Swap Meet -- 2006.03.04
About 1 hour and half drive from home in Orange County, finally came to San Diego Qualcomm Stadium. Yes, It's "Big 3" Swap Meet. This year was 40th anniversary for this event and over 2,000 exhibitors came from local and far as Texas and Phenix.
I went around as usual and local San Diego residents Julio & Dan had shop out. They were not selling stuff but more like had shop out to enjoy with friends and displayed their brought in the race car they were building for this years' Bonneville Speed Week. Of course their target for this years' Bonneville Speed Week is Class Record, Julio usually tell jokes but he told me serious about aiming Class Record. Will look forward for how they complete for this summers Bonneville.
As continuing to walk with little ache from my foot, saw the Logo of "200 Mile Club". "200 Mile Club" is club you can enter when you make over "200mph" speed record at Bonneville. Here they had Aluminum sheet Radiator Grille cover, Blower Belt, Flathead Valve Cover and wheel & tire with MOON Discs for sale. MOON Disc is must item for Bonneville cars'.
There were also event for VW Type-2 event called "SOTO Meeting" at Huntington Beach. and Vintage European event called "LA All Euro Swap meet & Car Show" at Long Beach. There was a light yellow 356 Porche displayed at "All Euro Swap". Set of MOON Disc was on a scale model displayed on top of roof. To ask for more, it would have been nice to see a set of MOON Disc on display car.
