Wildman Ishii's Long Story begins.
From February 2007, the long waited Wildman Ishii's Blog will start. It will be up on every Friday (basically).
At MOONEYES, Shige Suganuma has been sending out his own blog called "MOONEYES Express" with topics like Cool Cars and Bikes, related topics from California and Yokohama.
Then there is TANK'S Blog which is MOONEYES Mail Magazine Editor TANK's blog where Tank talks on unsuccessful diet, talking dreams. So from this issue Wildman's writing activities will start but to be honest Wildman must advice all readers that this blog will probably get harder to understand as issues goes by. The reason for that is may be some people know about this as Wildman has been coming out with fact that Wildman has habit of Collecting things and thirty years has gone by while collecting Vintage mini cars, Rock group "KISS" related goods, Vintage Sneakers as three Major things and endless collection is continuing.
(Thank you for people who helped out when Wildman was featured in TV program judging its true value of "collection") So this 3 topics will be the main topics of the Wildman's blog and not understandable for people with common sense and readers will Most likely to be limited to people with special interest. Wildman will try to hold on to the topics like cars and pin striping in the beginning but once Wildman takes off he will not be able to stop even by the BOSS, so Wildman will try best to keep calm on the ground.
The first issue is about Wildman's favorite old story on
'68 Shelby Cobra GT350 which was his loving car at time of MOONEYES opening in Yokohama Japan, but as Wildman is not good at making story short, will use 2 issues to write( sorry if I write for 3 issues). In 1986 April, while reading through the 78th issue of "Scramble Car Magazine" published by "Neko planning" former "Neko publishing" the favorite Magazine of Wildman who reads from the very first issue, in the corner of new released Item introduction black and white page New Shop news was listed.
In Motomachi Yokohama "MOONE YES" opens.
What is "MOONE YES"？ it was misprinting of course.
As Wildman read to find what this shop was about,
It said '60~'70 goods, car accessory and even Cobra Goods.
Back then, It was hard to get things related to Shelby Cobra even for stickers and patches, and Cobra it self was like forgotten by people in Japan except for mania.
That's unique stuff and unique shop to handle them and as
continued to read the magazine, it said the shop will give a present When customer visit shop with "Scramble Car Magazine" on May 17th on the opening day, Wildman decided to go to shop after work.
Back then Wildman was working as a sign painter in HONMOKU area and it was close by Motomachi with car or bike.
When Wildman reached new shop on its open day located in unique place for car shop in 2nd floor of MOTOMACHI Plaza aiming for a free present, there it was a very Dear eyeball mark looking at his way.
The book showed picture of Cobra Goods only and MOON EYEBALL was not mentioned at all. "MOON is that MOON?" Wildman remembered the child hood memory going back 10years ago (Wildman was 21 back in 1986), recognized "MOONE YES" was misprint and meant to be "MOONEYES" but didn't know that brand used to see on Sticker came in package of the model cars and mini cars were still existing and not gone. In side the deserted shop, there were Stickers and T-shirts with Eye Ball Mark and MOON disc which was the first real MOON Disc Wildman seen in his life and also it was then Wildman learned that MOON Disc was actually bolted on to the wheel with holes drilled on wheels. Of course many Cobra Goods were there Which now Wildman figures there were just few Sticker and Patches but It was all enough to get Wildman excited.
There were many things Wildman wanted to buy but since Bike can't carry Big stuff, took Cobra Patch to register and showed Book for present and got USA made "California Performance" poster free for couple hundred yen shopping.
(This poster is still on the wall of Wildman’s parents' home for more than 20 years now.)
"See you, Come again!" Was the word of BOSS Shige Suganuma when not even Knowing his name that day and left the shop but after that day heavy Visit to the MOONEYES shop begins and not just Cobra Patch but life changes with purchase of real '68 Shelby Cobra GT350 from this shop which was not even on Wildman's mind yet.
(to be continued)

[22
23
