I have special feeling about Nike so this issue is about My First Nike.\nAlways on about Old story but in 70's Heibon Publishing company (current Magazine house co.) has released Magazine called POPEYE which was packed with too many direct information about fashion, sports, cars and etc. from California USA which were more than enough to over come the worldly desire of young Wildman.\nJunior High Wildman who was one of big fun of POPEYE magazine also longed for big brothers of relatives who were college student in American fashion (there were no such word as American casual) and POPEYE was Wildman's bible and started to be particular about Jeans and T-shirts.\nPOPEYE was full of that kind of information at that time but one time there was information about unknown sneaker. \"Nike\" was the brand with color variation never seen before and strange stripe designed and was really attractive.\n\"Hmm, That's just what one would expected of America, It's way over cool\" I thought but \"How do you suppose to pronounce this name? Neake? Or is it Neke?\" and it was pronounced unexpected \"Naiki\". But in 1977 just after landing in Japanese Market Nike had a popular edition (low price edition) which price was more then 5,000 yen and not easy for junior high school student to buy. The unknown brand shoes were available at about 2,000yen so more than double priced\nNike was felt very high quality.\nWildman had to wait until high school to have Nike. So now story goes to Wildman's First Part time Job and it gets longer.\nTime is 1980, Wildman was high school student, but some friends who liked sneakers were already Wearing Nike and Brooks which was very popular in USA. \"Damn I want one too, I got to do something fast to wear\" so Wildman was obsessed.\nTo solve this problem Part time job was necessary and decided to work at Ham factory plant just Because it was near by school. It was pretty famous \"K\" Ham company in Kanagawa prefecture and it was T factory (may be still there so I will not put out name) where work for Nike has begun. The job was simple work with mask and uniform like those used in cafeteria of School and enormous. Amount of sausage and hams were rolling on belt conveyor which was to be removed and put in to\na pool looks like to Sterilize but it was fun as many bites of food can be appreciated (That was a reason why we were fired)\nThe hourly wage was tiny 450yen per hour, but after one month on payday received about 15,000yen And went straight to the Nike at Yokohama station west gate area. Back then, Bull Hachiouji Sneaker specialist shop had branch shop in Yokohama. It was small shop but has vast quantity of stock and has own line up imported style from USA May be all Sneaker mania has visited this place.\nI had cash grabbed in my hands and reached the shop. Pointed at Blue base with Lemon Yellow stripe called Nike \"Elite\" model and asked for \"please give me size 8\" (my feet were smaller back then).\"Please wait\" the shop stuff told me and he went to check stock but \"sorry we are of that size\" \"Can not be serious, if I don't have it today what was the meaning of working in Ham factory\" so I screamed but Stuff told me \"this color is new and stock is available in your size\" and handed out same model with different colors.\nThat was grey base with black stripe which was quiet colors and was not like Nike when compared to wanted blue with lemon yellow. \"Then there is direct import American style in Blue\" so recommended by shop stuff but price was super high at 14,800yen. Back then Nike was made by \"Nihon Rubber\" on Licence production and Japan model at 8,300yen which was peaceful money.\n\"Hmm, US Model is very attractive but its too high\" but still wanting to go back home with Elite on so, \"That's all right grey is fine\" and that's how my first Nike came along to me. Of course on next day in school, every one had rumor for finally Wildman had bout Nike. But why this quiet color, every one will ask and so Wildman had to reply strongly That \"its New color being talked about.\" Anyway that's how My First Nike has came to hands but quarter of century since then Sorry still this pair is at my hands. The pictured Grey and Black is the pair. Couldn't through away the orange box, and shared all Good and bad days with Wildman. But cant win the age and sole of shoes are getting too hard and Sounds like hard sole tap dance when walked around so embarrassing to walk out side. Wildman has displayed this pair and looking at rest of this shoes life in warm eyes. Here is one rich knowledge by Wildman. After that Taiwan and Korea were made but back then NIHON RUBBER who had licensed from Nike to make redesigned to fit for Japanese feet and Japanese version of Elite was sold from '78. The color was all blue and lemon yellow where ever they were made but after that in short period of time Japan Elite sold in Grey x Black. This is what Wildman had bout coincidently but now its color is very rare and Valuable between the collectors. But now its more rare to find and quality is high so now this Japan model is the popular models To collect between the manias. I have special feeling about Nike so this issue is about My First Nike.\nAlways on about Old story but in 70's Heibon Publishing company (current Magazine house co.) has released Magazine called POPEYE which was packed with too many direct information about fashion, sports, cars and etc. from California USA which were more than enough to over come the worldly desire of young Wildman.\nJunior High Wildman who was one of big fun of POPEYE magazine also longed for big brothers of relatives who were college student in American fashion (there were no such word as American casual) and POPEYE was Wildman's bible and started to be particular about Jeans and T-shirts.\nPOPEYE was full of that kind of information at that time but one time there was information about unknown sneaker. \"Nike\" was the brand with color variation never seen before and strange stripe designed and was really attractive.\n\"Hmm, That's just what one would expected of America, It's way over cool\" I thought but \"How do you suppose to pronounce this name? Neake? Or is it Neke?\" and it was pronounced unexpected \"Naiki\". But in 1977 just after landing in Japanese Market Nike had a popular edition (low price edition) which price was more then 5,000 yen and not easy for junior high school student to buy. The unknown brand shoes were available at about 2,000yen so more than double priced\nNike was felt very high quality.\nWildman had to wait until high school to have Nike. So now story goes to Wildman's First Part time Job and it gets longer.\nTime is 1980, Wildman was high school student, but some friends who liked sneakers were already Wearing Nike and Brooks which was very popular in USA. \"Damn I want one too, I got to do something fast to wear\" so Wildman was obsessed.\nTo solve this problem Part time job was necessary and decided to work at Ham factory plant just Because it was near by school. It was pretty famous \"K\" Ham company in Kanagawa prefecture and it was T factory (may be still there so I will not put out name) where work for Nike has begun. The job was simple work with mask and uniform like those used in cafeteria of School and enormous. Amount of sausage and hams were rolling on belt conveyor which was to be removed and put in to\na pool looks like to Sterilize but it was fun as many bites of food can be appreciated (That was a reason why we were fired)\nThe hourly wage was tiny 450yen per hour, but after one month on payday received about 15,000yen And went straight to the Nike at Yokohama station west gate area. Back then, Bull Hachiouji Sneaker specialist shop had branch shop in Yokohama. It was small shop but has vast quantity of stock and has own line up imported style from USA May be all Sneaker mania has visited this place.\nI had cash grabbed in my hands and reached the shop. Pointed at Blue base with Lemon Yellow stripe called Nike \"Elite\" model and asked for \"please give me size 8\" (my feet were smaller back then).\"Please wait\" the shop stuff told me and he went to check stock but \"sorry we are of that size\" \"Can not be serious, if I don't have it today what was the meaning of working in Ham factory\" so I screamed but Stuff told me \"this color is new and stock is available in your size\" and handed out same model with different colors.\nThat was grey base with black stripe which was quiet colors and was not like Nike when compared to wanted blue with lemon yellow. \"Then there is direct import American style in Blue\" so recommended by shop stuff but price was super high at 14,800yen. Back then Nike was made by \"Nihon Rubber\" on Licence production and Japan model at 8,300yen which was peaceful money.\n\"Hmm, US Model is very attractive but its too high\" but still wanting to go back home with Elite on so, \"That's all right grey is fine\" and that's how my first Nike came along to me. Of course on next day in school, every one had rumor for finally Wildman had bout Nike. But why this quiet color, every one will ask and so Wildman had to reply strongly That \"its New color being talked about.\" Anyway that's how My First Nike has came to hands but quarter of century since then Sorry still this pair is at my hands.
