Hello! This Hank, I'm owner of MOONEYES Sweden.
Here is some pictures of our eventfull weekend on Hockenheim in Germanythis
last weekend. The weekend started great, we got a good spot in this amazing
area. This place is a permanent Formula 1 race track, of enormous dimensions!
The place is amazing!
The track though was not verry good on Friday for the first qualifyings.
There was not enough grip in the track, so many teams had problems. We
ended up loosing a sparkplug that came straight out in the burnout, problem
by from reving a little too much due to no grip. We fixed it and went
back on Saturday morning and made a pass with which we quailfied, but...
on the finish line we lost that sparkplug again! Only this time it can
out when the engine is verry hot and the car is going FAST! SO WE HAD
A FIRE!
It looks alot worse than it is, it is mostly the body that got damaged
and hoses and cables.
Everything else is fine, but we couldn't fix it there at the race so the
weekend racing was over.
The car is already halfway fixed again, they just need to bring it back
here to Sweden to get the body fixed before going to England in two weeks.
So if everything works out right we will be there for the final race on
Santa Pod.
But now to the good part of the story!
After all this action with flames and firetrucks ( that's the tracks resque-truck
by the way with MOON discs and MOON license plates, I gave them stickers
to put on it to! ).People knew who we were ofcource, so we decided for
the big night-show when they bring all the nitro and alcohol cars out
on to the track and fire them all up at ones! That we were going to show
the race-fans that we hadn't given up.
So we tied a rope to the front of the car and the whole team dragged it
out there. The croud went wild! We became the heroes! And when the show
was over and they pulled all the rest of the cars away, the speeker keep
us there for a while, and he cheered the people on even more and he said:
"The rookie Martin Lundquist has really showed us that he is a fighter
and racer, you should all go over to him and give Martin and MOONEYES
RACING your support so that he can come back to the final and to us next
year!"
And they did, we sold alot of MOONEYES stuff and Martin got given a lots
of wish from the fans!
