MOONEYES Meetの前日、天気は概ね良好、ちょっと寒かったですが東北道で仙台に向かう途中、6月11日(日）東京お台場で開催予定のMotorcycle "Show & Swap Meet"の宣伝の為、郡山、福島、仙台のHDのモーターサイクルショップを数軒訪ねてきました。 |
| 郡山インターから5分位のところにある"Blaze"はHCS（YOKOHAMA HOT ROD・Custom Show）にも参加している、Long Forkが得意のHD Shopです。強烈なLong Fork HDが多い中、僕が気になったのは製作途中のスタッフのHDとこのMOON Chopper Tankを取り付けたHDです。 |  |

次は福島飯坂インターから約15分、Old HDが得意な"Motorcycle Custom Shop Breeze"。オーナーの服部さんはFordのPick Upに乗っているBiker。仕事車も国産車でなくてUSA車を使っているHD Shopが多いですが、カッコいいですよね。店内はOld HDが沢山、地元また他府県からのオーダーも多いという気さくなYoung GuyがオーナーのShopでした。 |
| 次に向かったのは3年前のHCSでJesse Jamesの賞を取った"Cosmic"。仙台南インターから10分位の、カスタムのオーダーが途切れないという超人気HDショップ。カスタム責任者の三浦さんもこれまた笑顔が素晴らしいHappy Guy、製作途中のHDを見せて貰いました。以前お邪魔した時は工場にはスタッフが3人居ましたが、2人は独立し、今は一人でカスタムを担当しているそうです。どこの世界も大変です。三浦さん、がんばってください。 |  |

ここからバイパスを走り仙台市内へ。市内1店目は"Roars Garage"。HDは勿論ですが国産、Triumph等のカスタムも得意な、HCSへも参加している有名店です。特に国産バイクのUSA的にカスタムに定評があります。この日は店長の武藤さんが出迎えてくれました。 |
| そして更に中心街にある"The Shop SAM'S"に向かいました。ClothingとHDをやっているSAM'S。Clothing Shopの店内を抜けるとあるHDショップはこの日はお休みでした。今回はCothing Shop Managerの秦さんが迎えてくれました。 |  |

更に仙台駅を越し海方向へ走ること20分、"Custom Cycles Hot Street"。昨年のHCSにも参加してくれたShopです。ちょうど製作中のHDがあり、忙しいところお邪魔しましたが笑顔で迎えてくれたオーナーの橘さん、ありがとうございました。HDだけという硬派な感じのさっぱりした綺麗なお店でした。 |
| 最後にお邪魔したのは"Deep Sleep Motorcycle"。ちょうど引越しを控え、大変な時間に突然お邪魔しました。引越し先はもう少し広く、また見つけやすい場所との事、オーナーの遠藤さんは東京のHDショップで経験を積んだ方です。 |  |
| 今回、6軒のHDカスタムショップにお邪魔しましたが、皆気さくで感じが良く笑顔が素敵なYoung Guyばかりでした。そして皆作業着はDickies。ジーンズを履くかDickiesを履くかでカスタム方向性も違ってくるような感じがする今回の東北道HDショップツアーでした。 さて、翌日のMOONEYES Meetの結果は次回のブログをお楽しみに！ |
| HD(Harley-Davidson) Custom Shop Tour in TOHOKU(Northern Part of Japan) in JAPAN The day before MOONEYES MEET was a little chilly but fine weather day and while taking TOHOKU-DO HWY to SENDAI city in Northern part of Japan, I took a visit around couple HD Motorcycle shops in KORIYAMA city, FUKUSHIMA city and SENDAI city area for promotion of our "Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet" on Sunday June 11th at ODAIBA Tokyo. The "Blaze" at about 5min. drive from KORIYAMA exit has entry in 14th HCS(YOKOHAMA HOT ROD Custom Show) who specialize in Long Fork HD. Among the amazing Long Forks, I had interest on one of employees HD and this HD with MOON Chopper Tank. Next is "Motorcycle Custom Shop Breeze" in FUKUSHIMA IIZAKA who specialize in Old HD. Owner Mr. Hattori has Ford Pick Up to suit with HD. Good to see that working truck is also USA Truck to match with bike. Many Old HD were in Shop, order comes from local and other areas too. The owner was a young nice guy. Next Shop is "Cosmic" at SENDAI which received Jesse James Award in HCS three years ago where custom orders for HD comes in continuously. Mr. Miura a representative of custom works was an another happy guy with nice smile. The two of former employee has individual shops now so he is working hard alone, wish best to him. Next is "Roars Garage" also in SENDAI city, who specialize in HD, Japanese Domestic, Triumphs and also has made entry to HCS. This shop is famous for making Japanese Domestic bikes. Shop Manager, Mr. Mutoh has welcomed us on that day. Next is "The Shop SAM'S" in central SENDAI city. SAM'S has Clothing and HD. HD shop was behind the clothing shop but was closed on that day. Then passing SENDAI station to "Custom Cycles Hot Street" who has also made entry to HCS. Like to thank the owner Mr. Tachibana who has welcomed us while busy working on HD with big smile. The shop was strictly HD only and real clean shop. Last shop was "Deep Sleep Motorcycle" they were in middle of packing for moving to larger space with easier access. The owner Mr. Endo has been working in HD Shop in Tokyo. We went to Six HD custom shops on this trip and they were all young and nice guys with smile and every one was using Dickies Work Wear. Through this trip I felt that Custom Style changes with clothing and choosing Dickies or Jeans made different effect. The next issue is about result of MOONEYES MEET. Please look forward to it. |
