結局、今年のBonnevilleもミスしてしまいました。しかも今年はMOONEYES USAのChicoがライセンス ランをするって言うのになんてこった、って感じです。彼のライセンス ランの詳しい話は今回の"Live From California"に載っていますので読んでください。
Drag Raceなら確実に１/4mileで終わる訳で、早い車なら4秒で終わることが出来ますが、Bonnevilleではアクセルを踏み続けて何マイルも走るのが怖いですよね。Bonnevilleでは3mileと5mileのコースがありますが距離が長すぎます。10秒くらいなら息を止めていられますが3mileは無理ですね。でもいつか一度は走ってみたいと思っています。
きっとChicoがレースカーを作るでしょうからそれに乗せてもらって、ライセンスが取り取れたらお蔵入りしている36年 Ford Projectを復活させるとか、FredのStreamlinerを持ち出すとか、選択はいくつかあります。

今年は特にエントリーも見に来た人も多く、きっと映画「The World's Fastest Indian」の影響だろうとの事です。映画でもMOON Logoは沢山出てきますが、Salt FlatsにMOON Logoは本当に似合います。
これこそ正真正銘の「MOON Equipped」の姿ですね。
Bonnevilleレーサーの宿泊地、Wendoverのネバダ州側にあるNugget Hotel & Casino。そうですカジノです。そこでは何とFred's Streamlinerがプリントされたポーカーチップが500枚限定で発売されました。ユタ州側に宿泊している人も道1本隔ててカジノの州ネバダでレース後はギャンブルを楽しんでいますが、一日雨でも降ろうものならレースは中止。ギャンブルAll Day。幾らお金があっても足りなくなってしまいます。
追伸：遂に映画「The World's Fastest Indian」が新春2007年1月に一般上映開始となります。日本語字幕付きですよ！Bonnevilleでのレース場面は勿論、1962年当時のCaliforniaの街並みやそこを行く車や人々等、レースだけでなく当時のカルチャーも楽しめる久々にワクワクする映画です。バイクはリジットがいいですね！この作品は10月21日～29日まで開催される「第19回東京国際映画祭」の特別招待作品にも選ばれました。
So I missed the Bonneville Speed Week this year too. Chico of MOONEYES USA had License Run this year and wasn't good to miss that. His story on License Run is up on "Live From California", please read if you can. Drag Race ends in 1/4 mile and 4 seconds, if you drive fastest car but Bonneville means more miles with stepping on gas and that's the scarily part for me.

There are 3 miles and 5 miles course on Bonneville and they are too long. I can hold my breath for 10 seconds but not for 3 miles. But I would love to drive it one day.

Probably Chico will make race car so I will hop on it to get license and restart the '36 Ford Project or bring out Fred's Streamliner and few choices.

This year there were so many people out and may be the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" made affect. The MOON Logo came out so many times on the movie and MOON Logo matches best on Salt Flats. This is the true [MOON Equipped] scenery.

Bonneville racers hotels are at Wendover and at Nugget Hotel & Casino on Nevada state side. This Casino had limited 500 Porker Tip with Fred's Streamliner printed on. People staying on Utah states cross road to the Casino legal Nevada State and enjoy gambling in Casinos but when it rains all day, race gets cancelled and gamble goes on all day, no matter how much money you have, it will not be enough money to spend.
