9月11日(日)に仙台ハイランドで開催されたSuper Shot主催のSo Cal Time Trial、1/4 マイルを走るDrag Raceです。 Super ShotはUSA車のチューニングで有名なショップですから参加している車も凄い車ばかりです。このグロリアもSuper Shotで製作されたレースカーです。1971年の日産グロリアにスモール ブロック シボレー エンジン、A/Tトランスミッション、Fordのデフ等、1/4 Mileをコンスタントに11秒台、195km/h 前後で走りますが、れっきとした国産車です。 |
| 5ヶ月振りに走るのでうまく走れるか不安でしたがリアクションタイムで0.501を出してしまいました。もし2/1000秒でも早くスタートしていたらレッドライト(ファール)です。出そうと思ってやった訳でないので偶然なんですが、我ながら驚いてしまいました。これをコンスタントに出せればKenji Okazakiですね。 |  |

仙台でレースがある時はいつも"Class of 1955"、そう今年50才になる仲間が2人一緒に参加しています。 一人は'68 Camaro、もう一人は'68 El Camino、この写真は2台がリターンロードを戻ってくる所です。リターンロードはレースが終わった車が戻って来る道です。 |
| この写真はスタート前にバーンアウトしてタイヤを暖めてるシーンです。隣の'68 シェベルは9秒台で走るモンスターです。最近9秒台、10秒台を出す車が多くなってきました。 今回の走行シーンはネコパブリッシング 秋元さんのブログで素晴らしい動画付きで紹介されていますのでどうぞご覧下さい。 次回は10月23日(日) 同じく仙台でDaytona誌の主催で開催予定です。仙台は遠いって、そうですが一度行ってみましょうよ！ |

| On Sunday September 11th at Sendai Highland in northern part of Japan, Quarter Mile Drag Race called "So Cal Time Trial" was hosted by Hot Rod Shop "Super Shot". Super Shot is USA cars specialist for Street & Strips and entry cars were all well build and tuned up for race. This Nissan Gloria is also a race car build by Super Shot. It is a 1971 Nissan Gloria with Small Block Chevrolet engine, A/T transmission, 9" Ford Rear-end w/4.11 which constantly make 11 seconds on quarter mile with 195 Km/h top speed and is a Japanese domestic car. I was worried about how 5 month blank from last race will effect my driving but my reaction time was 0.501 second. If I had 2/1000 second fast, it would have been a red light(foul). I was surprised to see the time especially as I was not intended to get this great result. If I get this time constantly I could be like a racer "Kenji Okazaki", X-NHRA Funny Car Driver. Every race at Sendai two friends from "The class of 1955" we will be 50 years old this year join. One has a '68 Camaro, another has '68 El Camino, and me this picture is when we are returning from quarter mile by return road. This picture is "burn out" which warms up tires before the race. The '68 Chevelle on the side is a monster which runs quarter mile in 9 seconds. Now days there are many cars which can run quarter mile in 9 or 10 seconds. Sendai is in northern part of Japan and may be far away from Tokyo and Yokohama but its good to see the race and wish every one try to see them once. |
