AUTO SHANGHAI 2007
I went to the Shanghai Auto Show on the end of April. It was first time for me to go to China.

First of all the impression of the street in China was just too many cars, with heavy traffic and sound of Horns was every where, A driver in hurry flashes Head light Up beam to the car in front of his even though the traffic don't seem to move at all and trying to make car move in front of him, It was just full of cars in hurry. How was the Chinese car? The famous Chinese car in old days was "KOUKI" brand which looked like Chrysler but they are gone and new cars are on street. The Chinese car consumption has been dramatically gained in the last 15 years. I remember when I was a child the Tokyo Metropolitan area had new regulation to cut off the horn in 1960's. The 10 years after the World War II, may be the Japanese was in hurry like current Chinese.

I remember my father got ticket from police bike for horn in Tokyo suburb Hachiouji. The suburb Hachiouji back than had nothing, there were nothing but mountain, river, farm, green and only few cars there so I am not sure why horn was necessary but father was angry for being ticketed. I was just a child but I agreed to my father.

The Tokyo had serious mixed heavy traffic, cars running beside the train on street. When I was a child, while sitting in the car in Ginza I saw one of the rear dual tire came off loose from bonnet type heavy truck and that tire rolled faster than truck and went in front of truck, I remember that the I was amazed to see that tire move so fast. The people were on the bed of three wheeler truck, road was mixed up no freeway like current Dai3keihin, I thought Shanghai was like that. It was piece full time.

Finally the Auto show, heard that difference income is insane Its like Tokyo Auto Show in 60s was filled with many people who didn't have money to buy car but must take a look it was whole people in countries interest.

My brother who was 6 years older than me, he was real car guy, He had license for small cars (allow to drive below 360cc) when he was 16 years old and I must have been about 10 years old, with brother and his friends took me out to MOTOR SHOW in HARUMI, Tokyo back 1965 or something. I got trauma from extreme fatigue in over dose of people, Brothers too up tight had no lunch, endless cue line for train and buses end up with a hike to Ginza (kina for kid) and so I did't go until I had my own bike. It was crazy to take taxi from Shanghai Motor Show, no lines and no taxi lines, grab the cab when someone gets off.

It's like taking seat on train in Japan in 60s. It will be easy when you get used to it. Until just a little ago, It was like that in Japan too, Just doing something people will show funny face too.

If I pull out what I have tacked away, I should be able to live fine. The gentle man from Unite States was shocked in these situation, so I caught Taxi for him.

Why did I go to Shanghai? The people I deal with in Taiwan had moved to China so to visit them. On the way back, I got on Linear Motor Train run on 431km per hour (270mph) to airport. It was fast!
