さて、前回のブログからの続きとなりますスニーカー話ですが、1981年の早春、数万個に及ぶメンマつぶしの職人技アルバイトにて時給￥600の高額な報酬を得たWildmanとスニーカー友達のT君の２人組は札束を握りしめて横浜駅西口のマニア向けスニーカー専門店のブル八王子に出撃となりました（今は無きこのお店の詳細は3月13日のブログを参照して下さい）。
店に入るといつものメガネの店長が2人の相手をしてくれました。「よう、今日はどうしたの?」と店長が話し掛けてきます。2人組は「今日はついに輸入品を買いに来ましたぜ!!」と元気良く答えると店長はちょっと驚きました。何度も言っておりますが当時のアメリカ製ナイキはとっても値段が高くて高校生がおいそれと買えるようなシロモノではなかったのです。いつも日本製のナイキしか買っていなかった2人が揃ってそんな贅沢品を買いに来たのだから驚いたのでしょう。「本当かよ、輸入品は値段が高いぜ」と店長が言います、そこで2人組はすかさず「大丈夫、俺たちは今日は金持ちなんです、心配無用です」と答えました。すでに2人は事前に購入するシューズも決めておりました。
なぜか2人とも同じものを買うと言う気持ちの悪い決断でした。それはああ、憧れのMade in USAである"Nike Bermuda"（ナイキ バミューダ）というモデルでした。
鮮やかなブルーのこのモデルは1979年に発売されましたが、まさにこれから80年代に向かって新たな技術を投入して行くぞといった感じのシューズで、つま先部分のみ全部メッシュ素材となっている変わったデザインで、それ以外にもカーボンが封入されたアウトソールやヴァリアブルワイズシステムというジグザグに配置されたシューレースホールによっていろいろな紐の締め方が出来るという、当時としては次世代シューズと言ってもよいハイテク満載のモデルでした(今見ると超ローテクですが・・・）。
そんな事は2人組はよく分かっておらず、まず名前がバミューダトライアングルみたいで謎めいてカッコイイというのと、つま先のメッシュが涼しそうだと言う単純な理由と何よりも憧れのアメリカ製という事が購入にあたっての決定的な決断でした。
早速試し履きとなりましたが、店長が「この手の輸入品は靴の幅が外人向けで狭いから、いつもよりワンサイズ大き目が良いよ」とアドバイス頂きました。「へーそうなんだ、日本製とは違うんだ、そんな事初めて知った」と、くだらないことに感動する輸入品初心者の２人組でした。
日本製の日本向けナイキは日本人（アジア系）に合わせて甲高で幅広の型になっていました。それに対してアメリカ製等の海外製品は外人さんに合わせ幅が狭い型だったのです。「本当だ、いつもは8ハーフ（26.5cm）なのに9(27.0cm）の方がしっくり来る」と2人組みは納得して同じサイズを購入する事となりました。店長さんが試し履きした方をWildmanに渡してくれ、T君のは店の奥の在庫から出して来てくれました。
それが運命の分かれ道となり悲劇（喜劇?）の始まりだったのです。
レジにて大枚￥14,800を払って人生最大の金額のシューズを手に入れた2人組は感動しまくりで京浜急行下り普通列車浦賀行きに乗り込みその日はT君の家に向かったのです。
T君宅に到着し早速オレンジ色のナイキの箱を開けて感動を分かち合う事となりました。箱から出されたバミューダはMade in USAのオーラ出しまくりで「う、美しい、やはりアメリカ製は違うぜ」と至福の喜びのWildman、T君も箱から取り出し感動のバミューダとの御対面となったのですが、次の瞬間「あれ、おまえの何か変じゃない??」とWildmanの鋭い指摘が入ります。
T君も「本当だ何か違うぞコレ??」となりました。2つを並べてみると何か違うのです。「あれれ、つま先のメッシュの色が違うじゃん!!」とWildmanが気付きました。Wildmanのはシューズ全体のカラーであるブルーのメッシュでしたがT君のはメッシュ部分だけなぜかパープルなのです。「何かかっこ悪くないか、おまえの」と嫌味なWildman、「おかしーな、これ」と悩むT君。
2人であっちこっち調べ始めシュータン(ベロ）をめくってNikeロゴの裏を見てみるととっても衝撃的な事実が待っていたのです。衝撃というよりも笑劇的だったので続きは次回にします。

Inside the shop, as usual the shop manager with glasses welcomed us.
"hey, what's happening today?" says he. The two are "Today finally we came to buy the real US import!" in energetic voices, the store manager was little surprised. Like Wildman says so many times back than the Nike from USA was not some high school Boys shoes to buy. The two who only buys Nike made in Japan has come to buy the Expensive ones in two together, so he was surprised. "Really the import ones are expensive you know, "so he says, then the two reply "That's fine we are rich today, no worries". The two have already decided which shoes to buy too. It was strange but the two decided to buy the same shoes. The choice was the Longing Made in USA "Nike Bermuda" model. This fresh blue model was sold in 1979 and it was the shoes with new technology Going to 80s and had different design with mesh material at toe and carbon in sole material and valuable wise system with shoe lace holes in zigzagged places which various way to Place laces through so it was the next generation Shoes with full of high tech model (now it looks low tech) the tow didn't really know much about it but it looked cool and name was like Bermuda triangle so mysterious was cool thing and the toe was mesh and looked cool too, so that simple reason and made in USA was the key for the decision. So now it was time to try on, the store manager said "this import ones are for over seas people and Tight on side ways so buy one larger than usual size."
"OK, so its different from made in Japan, that first time I got to know“ so the beginner of import two were getting excited over small thing. Japan made Nike for Japanese had high space and wide to fit Asian foot. Compare to that the USA and over seas made had tight narrow width. "That's true its usually 8 and half but nine fits better" so the two agreed and got same size. The store manager gave wild man the shoes tried on and gave one from the back to the friend. That was the turning point of tragic or the funny story. Paid big time \14,800 on lifes highest price shoes were in hand of the two and they decided to Go to Ts house with train ride on Keihin-Express via Uraga. The Two reached Ts house, opened orange Nike box and shared the high excitement. The Bermuda out of box was full of made in USA ora and "Beautiful, the made in USA is different" So Wildman was happy, the friend T took Bermuda out of box and was exciting time to face new Shoes but then on the next moment, Wildman said "hey yours is strange!" the sharp Wildmans Eye didn't miss the thing. T said "Yeah, its different".
The tow Bermuda was placed by side. "The toe has different color" found Wildman .The Bermuda for Wildman was all in same blue color but T had toe mesh in Purple. "That's not cool, "says Wildman "something is wrong" says T. The two looked and searched for the reason, the two peeled the shoe tang on the back of the Nike logo found out some striking truth. Very striking but more like a laugh.
