"LA Roadster Show"
I went to the LA Roadster Father's day show and swap meet last weekend.
This show is hosted by LA Roadster Club on Father's day and as titled show is for Roadsters only. It's 42nd Anniversary this year. Many Ford Roadsters mainly the 1932 Deuce roadsters gather to Southern California, Pomona. Next year 2007 will 75th Anniversary for 1932 Ford Deuce! There are many other style cars out side of show area other than roadsters too. I can not imagine this scene as various style of Street Rodder gather from all across the USA.
The Swap Meet was hosted in space beside the show and as seen in this picture there were many Rodders with roof gather as they cannot show inside. Balley Tank is extra fuel tank for Fighter Airplane and some people use them to make Bonneville race cars. Its aero dynamic design and good for race. May be Zero fighters can be used too?
In show bender booth, the steel reproduction bodies were all sold. If this pace continues, there will be more 1932 Deuce then it was made in 1932. The show space is like this and all you can see is extension of this.
There were body to half build up cars in swap meet and many buyers were retired people who bought cars that they couldn't buy back then, which is like the Japan's Dankai Generation(Retired Generation) who is buying cars that they wanted to buy when they were young.
It was unbelievable to see even this kind of frames are on sale. It proves to me that there is a great difference in depth of dedication to cars compared to it in Japan. It may be because of that a stage coach was way of moving in USA and "KAGO" a basket crate carried by man was way of moving in Japan.
While I was thinking about it Mr.Kasai of Deuce Factory Japan appeared with straw hat. Oh, it was hot at there! |
