Bonneville は前日の Storm で水が溜まってしまった為、 開催を 2〜3日延ばす様です。
今は e-mail や FB 等で簡単に情報が入りますが 20年前はそこに行くまで何が起きているか分かりませんでした。
情報が手に入らない時代の事ですが Bonneville 迄来てみたら中止だったと言う事もありました。
これも Bonneville Speed Week です。
明日にはどうなるか決定するようです。
There was a flash storm that passed over Bonneville a day before it started so the actual start has been delayed for 2-3 days. Today we have email and FB etc. so news and information travels fast but 20 years ago you wouldn't know anything until you got there. Back in those days there were times when you would arrive at Bonneville only to learn that the meet had been canceled.
This is Bonneville Speed Week.
A decision will be made tomorrow about this year.
正面が Wendover と言う街で皆が宿泊する街です。
左側ネバダ州、 右はユタ州に分かれます。
ネバダ側ではギャンブル等が出来ますがユタ側は静かなものです。
The main are is Wendover where everyone lodges on the state line.
To the left is Nevada and on the right is Utah.
On the Nevada side you can camp etc. but the Utah side is very quiet.
今年 チャレンジをする、 Sam Okamoto と九州長崎の Shirley Mama 入江さんです。
Bonneville の街 Wendover の Motel で最後の仕上げをしています。
後2日、 完成できるといいですが。
Also taking on the challenge this year is Sam Okamoto and Mr. Irie from Shirley Mama of Nagasaki, Kyushu. They were already in Wendover putting the finishing touches on their car in the motel parking lot.
I hope they can get it ready in the next 2 days.
でもレース前日にクルマを会場で仕上げているのは始めて見ました。
However, this was the first time I had seen the car in complete form.
