「このデカール一体何の意味のデザインですか？？」と多数の方々に聞かれます。それはWildmanが一番好きなデザインであるムーンアイズ品番DM146"御所山８"デカール。確かに意味分りませんね・・・ただ単に外人さん受けを狙った漢字をデザインしただけの物にも見えますし、何と読むのかも分りにくい文字です。
「ごしょやまエイト」と読みます。ますます何だか分らないですね。しかしその下に小さく書いてある文字を読んで下さい。
"Home of Pinstriping"と"Mooneyes Wildman"のサインが入っています。これで少しは意味が分ったでしょうか？"Home of Pinstriping"は日本におけるピンストライプ発祥の地を意味しています。そうですこれは地名＆番地を表しているのですが、Mooneyes Signs & Pinstriping Studioとして活動を始めた1989年より2006年まで約17年間に渡りStudioとして使用して来たWildmanが愛した御所山Studioのメモリアルステッカーなのです。（2007年現在Studioは本牧のMooneyes Area-1内にあります）
右を向けばランドマークタワーが見えて、左を見ると富士山！が望め、横浜の中心部にありながら、ひっそりとした住宅街の中で、1000台以上のクルマにPinstripeを描いて来た思い出の場所なのです。（ちなみに御所山町会は５０年以上の歴史があります）
古くからお付き合いのある御客様も御所山の話をすると「とっても分りにくい場所だったよね」と皆、口をそろえて思い出してくれます。なかなかたどり着けず、行方不明になったお客様も多数いました（カーナビが無い頃は皆さん着いただけで喜んでいました）。
Mooneyesの数々の歴代Show Carもここで製作し、エド・ロスやフレッド・ラーセン、ジミーCやライン・ドクターらUSAからのゲストも多数訪れてくれました。日本の古い町並みとカスタムカーがミスマッチして不思議な雰囲気でしたので外人受けも良かったですね。
変わったクルマばかりやって来るのに、ご近所の方々もよくぞお付き合いしてくれたものです（皆さん興味深々でしたが）突然ファニーカーがやって来たり、デュースクーペやマーキュリーといったUSA車、国産旧車からピックアップ、はたまたローライダーやカウンタック！までやって来て、それは街角で毎日カーショーを開催しているような有様でした。爆音のクルマも多数来ましたが、17年間で苦情が来たのはM氏のMoon Shot（Dodge)くらいでした（ご近所の皆様は我慢してくれて感謝です）。
そんな御所山Studioから離れて約１年が経ちましたが、今でもあそこで作業したクルマたちの事は忘れられません。と言う事で、１度でも御所山Studoを訪れた事がある方は、思い出としてナゾの御所山８デカールを貼って下さい。

"What does this Decal mean?" many people ask so. That is Wildmans most favorite design, MOONEYES product number DM146 "Goshoyama 8 " Decal.
True that it's mysterious, it looks simply wanted to catch attention from People abroad with Kanji (One of Japanese Charactor), very hard to read. "Goshoyama Eight" that is how to read. Its even more mysterious.
But please find the small " Home of Pinstriping" and " MOONEYES Wildman" signature. May be a little bit clear.
"Home of Pinstriping" means Japan's birth place of Pinstriping. That’s right its address of street and number which represent Wildmans loved Goshoyama Studios memorial sticker where MOONEYES Signs & Pinstriping Studio was opened for 17years from 1989 to 2006. (2007 current Studio is in Honmoku Area-1)
On the right is the Land Mark Tower(Big Building), left is view of Mount Fuji. Still in middle of Yokohama but quiet residence area, It is memorial place for Wildman where he pinstriped more than 1,000 cars.
The people who has been our long customer remembers and says "It was a really hard place to find ".
some people may have not find and lost. (in times when there were no GPS to tell and customer were happy just to
find the place.)
MOONEYES historical Show cars are made here and USA Guests such as Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Fred Larsen, Jimmy C, Line Doctor, Anthony from Shifters, Rob Fotier, Editor of Classic Truck Magazine, Boyd Coddington, Pete Chapouris, Billy Gibbons and a lots of people have came to see.
It was mysterious mismatch with Custom cars and Old Japanese Neighborhood, So Guest from abroad liked it there too.Neighbors were nice to welcome these Custom cars coming to Goshoyama. (every one showed so much interest )
Suddenly Funny car came, or USA cars like Duce Coupe and Mercury Old Japanese classics, pick ups and Low Riders, Lamborghnis, It was like car show in little neighbors on everyday. There were many loud cars but the only one in 17years who got claim was Mr,Ms MOON Shot(440 powered Dodge Coronet). Thank you all neighbors for being patient.
It has already been a year since left the old town Goshoyama. But still can't forget all the cars Wildman worked on.
So if you ever been in the Goshoyama, please put this"Goshoyama 8" decal as good old memory of Goshoyama.
